ELEGANT MANSION ON THE HERENGRACHT

In this building we showed that monumental features are not an inhibition but a challenge. Until recently the second floor was used as an individual apartment. The level was rebuild as bedroom floor with a master bedroom that includes a dressing- and bathroom and three bedrooms for the three sons, with a kids bathroom comprising three fraternally adjacent sinks. The boys can connect their bedrooms by opening the wide sliding doors to create a single large room. We also negotiated a special permit from the city to build an interior stairway from the entrance level to the second floor. We were able to install the staircase without damaging monumental beams.
