FACING THE WIND
This house – featuring three sculpted corners on the roof – dates back to 1615 and was combined in the 1980’s with one of its neighbours to form one large apartment. Both homes have been separated again. We repartitioned the rooms and, in consultation with the principal, devised axes of vision: axes or lines in the apartment directing the line of vision to a fixed point, in this case outside. This made the apartment appear more spacious and livelier. In its compact area of 60 square metres, the apartment comprises a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, storage area (partially above the bathroom), lavatory and central heating space.
