SISTERS RESTORED

The two buildings on Kerkstraat were neglected for years. Stadsherstel bought both properties, after the previous owners were approached by the municipality. Because foundation works were necessary, the cellars could be deepened. On this floor a kitchen diner was created. The condition of both rear facades was very poor and the facades were completely rebuilt. The basic layout of the remaining floors of the houses  were kept the same. All the woodwork was restored and painted in the original colors: green for one and yellow for the other. With the restoration completed, both “sisters” are shining brightly again.
